Celebrating Incredible Customer Milestones in 2023
2023 has been a banner year for rolling out new customer apps. In the U.S. we saw the program launches of the Warrenton Oil Company, FastLane’s car wash subscription program and Smith Oil’s new ACH-only fuel pay program.
In Europe, we celebrated launching the Kompis loyalty program (Norway), the expansion of Circle K car wash subscriptions in Poland and Lithuania, Sabura Sticks and Sushi (Norway) and several more upgrades with current customers like Maxol and Avec.

Partnering With Point-of-Sale Solution Providers
Nearly two-thirds of U.S. convenience retailers can now enjoy seamless point-of-sale (POS) integration with Liquid Barcodes loyalty apps and programs after achieving certification from Verione and Gilbarco in 2023. In September 2022, Liquid Barcodes’ revolutionary app-based C-StorePay program achieved certification with Verifone to integrate with Verifone’s cloud-based point of sale (POS) and site management software solutions for gas stations and convenience stores.
Customers of either Verifone or Gilbarco will appreciate the efficient and convenient deployment of Liquid Barcodes programs! Additional technology partner integrations will be announced in 2024 ensuring Liquid Barcodes is the easiest–to-implement loyalty program in the U.S. convenience retailing industry.
Exceptional Growth and Capital Infusion Propels Liquid Barcodes Deeper Into North America in 2023
Liquid Barcodes announced an equity investment and capital infusion by Norwegian-based Viking Venture in July. Viking has extensive experience in the B2B SaaS space to help Nordic software companies, like Liquid Barcodes, to grow and expand globally. Viking recognized the global leadership position that Liquid Barcodes established in the digital loyalty and subscription space and plans to significantly expand the large U.S. market with an influx of capital to increase resources in support of an aggressive growth plan.
Thanks to the support of Viking Venture in July, we have established a U.S. hub office in Cleveland and hired a strong team in sales, marketing, and customer success positions.
Lara Winter joined the team in September as Marketing Specialist. Lara has been the creative force behind a robust social media presence, accelerated outbound marketing efforts, and coordination of the 2023 NACS Show team experience.
Cody Schneider was also hired in September as the first-ever U.S. Customer Success Manager. Cody’s role is to engage and support new and existing North American customers. Cody enjoyed joining the team at the 2023 NACS Show to meet with all of his new customer connections.
In mid-2023, José Santiago was also promoted to Chief Customer Officer in recognition of his stellar performance with the growing team and customer base..
The addition of convenience-industry experts, Nick Cozad and Elijah Wilson bolstered the sales presence assisting GM and Head of North American Sales, Saurabh Swarup. Cozad, with considerable experience in convenience store technology solutions, joins Liquid Barcodes after several years with industry SaaS provider Petrosoft. Wilson, a U.S. Army Veteran, is an expert in convenience categories, having previously worked in sales for a merchandise company serving the industry. Cozad and Wilson will be working with convenience chains to help them implement world-class loyalty and subscription solutions at a fraction of the cost compared to competitors.
Liquid Barcodes Team Takes Center Stage at Premier Industry Events in 2023
The team hit the road running this year, attending more U.S. events than ever before. Starting in February, Saurabh Swarup and a dozen industry executives were hosted by customer Sunshine Gasoline to demonstrate the successful launch of Sunshine’s ground-breaking fuel pay program in Miami ahead of the NACS Leadership Forum. Sunshine’s program is one of a small few to accept ACH debit for payment which saves them thousands of dollars in egregious credit card processing fees.
Saurabh and Jose also attended other industry events like the NAG Conference in Austin, Texas and The Car Wash Show 2023 in Las Vegas. CEO Mats Danielsen attended the NACS Convenience Summit Europe in Dublin, Ireland where he was able to celebrate with Circle K for winning the NACS Convenience Retail Technology Award, partly for their superb global car wash subscription program created by Liquid Barcodes!
The year ended on a high note with the full team’s exhibition at the NACS Show in Atlanta. The entire U.S. team and several customer success teammates from the Spain location demonstrated to global retailers how Liquid Barcodes solutions are the key to their marketing success. Holding court in the Technology area of the Expo, the team enjoyed the event for the second year and plans for an even larger presence at the 2024 NACS Show in Las Vegas.
