Kwik Stop has been part of the Dubuque, Iowa community for more than 40 years. A family-owned business operating 10 locations across Dubuque and Peosta, Kwik Stop offers fuel, fresh food through its Neighborhood Eats program, and amenities including truck stops, showers, and delivery. As the largest locally owned convenience store chain in Dubuque, Kwik Stop has built its reputation on knowing its customers and giving back to the community they share. That same spirit is at the heart of the newly upgraded Kwik Stop Rewards app, powered by Liquid Barcodes.

 

The Challenge

Kwik Stop had the community trust, the loyal customer base, and the local reputation that most retailers spend decades building. What it needed was a modern digital loyalty experience worthy of those relationships. To keep pace with larger regional and national competitors, Kwik Stop needed a platform that could deliver a full-featured rewards program without the complexity of managing multiple vendors or systems.

Having raised more than $2.2 million for local nonprofits since 2002, the company needed a loyalty platform that could reflect those values by allowing customers to participate in giving directly through their everyday purchases.

The Solution

To address these challenges, Kwik Stop partnered with Liquid Barcodes and launched the upgraded Kwik Stop Rewards app, now available on iOS and Android across all 10 locations. The platform consolidates fuel loyalty, in-store rewards, gamification, order ahead, tobacco offers, and community giving into a single app, giving Kwik Stop customers a faster, more rewarding experience at the pump, in-store, and beyond.

 

Key Features

  • Fuel Loyalty: New members receive an instant 25-cent-per-gallon discount on up to 20 gallons upon sign-up and continue earning points on every gallon of gas and every dollar of diesel purchased at the pump.

  • Loyalty Points & Rewards: Earn points on every dollar spent on eligible in-store purchases and redeem them as Rewards Cash in-store, as fuel discounts at the pump, or donate points directly to a local nonprofit. Earn points for referring friends and members can start redeeming with as few as 100 points.

  • Stamp Cards: Earn stamps on coffee, fountain drinks, donuts, sandwiches, milk, and more through Kwik Stop Rewards Club Offers, with free items after qualifying purchases, including a free car wash at participating locations.

  • Gamification: Play daily games to earn bonus points, free products, and prizes. Enter contests to win prizes by completing short surveys.

  • Tobacco Loyalty: Age-verified members receive manufacturer-funded tobacco discount offers on a variety of popular brands from Altria, RJR, and soon PMI USA, delivered directly through the app after completing a secure verification process.

  • Order Ahead & Delivery: Customers can place orders for quick pick up or delivery through Kwik Stop's existing delivery service, powered by Vroom Delivery, available at participating locations.

  • Store Locator: Members can find nearby Kwik Stop locations, check their rewards cash balance, and view current promotions all in one place.

  • Customer Success: Kwik Stop will work directly with the Liquid Barcodes Customer Success team to drive program performance, member engagement, and long-term loyalty growth.

  • Coming Soon - Car Wash Subscription: Kwik Stop guests at participating locations will be able to manage car wash subscriptions directly through the app.
