S&S Petroleum, a family-owned and rapidly growing fuel and convenience retailer, has launched My Royal Rewards, a mobile-first loyalty app designed to create deeper customer connections and deliver everyday value. Powered by Liquid Barcodes, the app combines rewards, clubs, games, and exclusive offers in one seamless digital experience.

With a presence across Washington, Idaho, Oregon, and California, S&S Petroleum sought a next-generation solution to reward its loyal customers, differentiate its brand, and drive repeat visits in a highly competitive market.

The Challenge

The leadership team at S&S Petroleum recognized that customers expect more than traditional punch cards and static promotions. They wanted a digital-first approach that could:

  • Increase customer frequency and spend
  • Reward loyalty with meaningful and fun incentives
  • Simplify access to exclusive product offers, including regulated categories such as tobacco
  • Provide personalized engagement across all stores
  • Modernize the customer journey with mobile convenience

To achieve these goals, S&S Petroleum needed a loyalty platform that was flexible, engaging, and proven in convenience retail.

The Solution

In partnership with Liquid Barcodes, S&S Petroleum launched My Royal Rewards, an engaging loyalty app that puts customers at the center of the experience.

Key Features Include:

  • Coins for every purchase and Club Cards for Drinks
    Customers earn 1 Coin for every $1 spent, unlocking discounts and free products. Digital punch cards for coffee and fountain drinks, with the 8th cup free after 7 purchases. Reward programs engage and retain members to keep them returning for more.
  • Games
    Daily spin-to-win and other interactive games that deliver bonus Coins, free products, and instant prizes. Gamification engages members to keep them returning to the app to win more.
  • Exclusive offers
    Personalized deals on snacks, beverages, and tobacco products. A unique integration with Altria’s program ensures a secure, compliant way to deliver age-restricted offers on the app. Users enter detailed contact information and then answer a series of historical personal questions to validate their identity. Once complete, they receive discounts on age-restricted products.
  • Store locator, friend referrals, and more 
    A built-in map to find nearby S&S locations and current promotions.
